New Project - "We'll always have Paris..."
My passion for photography started almost 25 years ago. After some years "burning" film, like many in my generation, I am, nowadays, almost completely devoted to the digital system. The inevitable evolution towards digital has broadened horizons but has also brought new challenges. The abandonment of colour has been a constant in recent years, giving way to Black & White, always with high contrast and much more focus on shapes and contours. This new version of my website aims to share my photography and it's evolution over the years. You are invited to look at our world through my lenses... or through my eyes.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
“Photography is truth.”
"There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer."
“One doesn’t stop seeing. One doesn’t stop framing. It doesn’t turn off and turn on. It’s on all the time.”
“My life is shaped by the urgent need to wander and observe, and my camera is my passport.”
“Black and white are the colours of photography. To me they symbolise the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected.”
"The first 10 000 shots are the worst."
“If you take a picture of a human that does not make him noble, there is no reason to take this picture. That is my way of seeing things.”
